I look forward to making sure that the technology will beneifit my students in art. the possibilities of using the white board, virtual field trips etc. would be nice. Not sure that I have the time or fortitude to learn all of this stuff at this age or time in my teaching day. I plan to give it my best shot. I also agree with Teresa's comment about feeling comfortable with using "new" things. I agree with Mrs. Russell that the school should be doing more than just basic skills in the computer lab.

I use some old tech. in the classroom to reinforce skills. (Leap Pad, GeoSafari, Speak 'n Spell...) Kids still love the indep. and immediate response. I also plan to play around with the white board and bring the internet into the classroom with whole group controlled enviro before indep. in computer lab. When computer station set-up, I have lots of kiddie software the kids love.

I feel in addition to effective teaching techniques, technology is extremely important for student advancement. The children respond to learning made fun. They look forward to using the internet to play games. What they often do not realize is that skills presented in class are being reinforced and that they are learning. I am anxious to learn more about the White Board, as I am certain that the children will love it.
